Nonlinear Presentation Annotation

This presentation is revolving around Trigonometry and Right Triangles because that is going to be the Unit Lesson that I will be involving myself into in the classroom that I am currently Teacher Assisting. The following is a breakdown of the sources that I used within my presentation:

Quick note: This source is a great graphing tool in which mathematics can be expressed visually. Students will be able to take screenshots of the material that they create and prove that they understand the material by creating and manipulating the mathematics within the program itself.

Socrative - www.socrative.com

Quick note: This is a resource in which teachers can create quick checks, quizzes, activities for students to have them respond and have data collected about the information that they are correctly and incorrectly answering. Students are able to login to this from their own device (it must be an open trial from the teachers standpoint) so that they can submit their answers. Answers are assigned to students names so that a teacher is able to easily detect who is correctly answering the information.

Quick note: Great resource for students to make connections with trigonometry functions. They are able to easily manipulate the information on the webpage so that they can have yet another resource to make sense of the material that is being presented within the classroom.

Geogebra - www.geogebra.org

Quick note: This is one of my favorite resources to use within mathematics lessons no matter what is being taught. Students are able to download an app to their technology tool and use this program even offline and then save to their account. Users are also able to upload their own creations to Geogebra tube for other teachers/students/etc. to use depending on the mathematical concepts being studied. This enhances student's knowledge and also provides them with a fun way to understand and study the material that is being presented.

Classroom Policy Annotation

This presentation was revolving around classroom policy in which would be instated within my future classroom that revolves around technology use. We see policy that references the use of technology within the classroom and the agreement in which all students must sign before progressing through the course of the class. The following are resources that reference technology policy within the classroom.

Quick note: This is a good resource for students to use as an introduction to copyright and how to use information in which they find via technology that is useful for their assignments and/or presenations within the classroom.

Quick note: This is a fantastic resource in which students can use to understand the limitation of using information that is web based within the classroom. There are certain circumstances in which they are allowed to show and use certain information in which falls within an exemption clause if they are using this information within the classroom for educational purposes. Thus, the students would be able to present the information in an informative way such that they are not going against any laws.

Student Privacy - http://ic.galegroup.com/ic/suic/ReferenceDetailsPage/ReferenceDetailsWindow?failOverType=&query=&prodId=SUIC&windowstate=normal&contentModules=&display-query=&mode=view&displayGroupName=Reference&limiter=&currPage=&disableHighlighting=false&displayGroups=&sortBy=&search_within_results=&p=SUIC&action=e&catId=&activityType=&scanId=&documentId=GALE%7CCX3611000717&source=Bookmark&u=foothill_hs&jsid=9bf7a81f3c96136827a03520b4c2f8ac

Quick note: This is a resource in which I believe would be beneficial for students to understand privacy reasoning with a governmental spin. Since I will be most likely teaching high school students I believe that this would be a fantastic source for students to gain some knowledge about privacy in general and how it pertains to them as a student.

Safe and Responsible Technology in the Classroom - http://www.education.vic.gov.au/school/teachers/support/Pages/safeandresponsibleuse.aspx

Quick note: This is a good resource in which students would be able to understand and follow certain procedures with safe and responsible uses of technology within the classroom. Many students (and I know we have all been there) don't think that certain policies directly relate to them but with technology within the classroom I believe that every policy has to do with the student and this would be a great way to show that students are effected by these policies.

Real math with Computers - https://www.ted.com/talks/conrad_wolfram_teaching_kids_real_math_with_computers

Quick note: I'm all about Ted Talks and how to incorporate them within the classroom. With this specific Ted Talk, students are able to see the uses of technology and how it applies to mathematics in a real world situation. In order to have these programs, students must realize that we have to treat them correctly and use them in such a way that is beneficial so that we are able to grow and prosper from using these programs within the classroom!

Additional Resources

Quick note: This is a fantastic tool to use inside and outside of the classroom. All students are able to post videos to thread and/or topics that are posted including misconceptions and confusing steps. Then, other students and/or the teacher are allowed to respond to the misconceptions to provide feedback and steps in order for the student to be able to solve the problem. We can also see different means of communication and problem solving between students to broaden their understanding and comprehension.
